Knowing R&K were still on site at the Croton RV site and purposely waiting until after the July 4th weekend was over, I made reservations for our shake-down adventure. At arrow's tip is site 37...on the west side of the road.
Won't bore reader with the litany of things that must be done for setting up. Mundane things like hooking up the shore line for electricity, the water hose, and sewer hose. Then there's straightening up inside, activating both rear and side sliders to increase living space within. If sunny, the 16' awning is extended, the grill is out, the picnic table is covered, and yadda, yadda, yadda. For Winnie, it was smooth sailing, pleasant, and enjoyable. Everything was set up without a hitch including my 10' x 10' screen tent and the Coleman Road Trip propane gas grill.

To add to the already enjoyable pleasures of a good beginning, I had the pleasure of visitors. Diane stopped by and we walked the area.

On July 11th, I entertained Jaycee & Pete Hoffman, old friends, whose RV was parked at a site behind mine on the next road. They enjoyed hot dogs, fresh buns, mustard, sauerkraut, baked beans, and grilled potatoes for their dinner.
Another neighbor across the street from my site were the Augones; Trish & Craig. Married over 20 years, they've been camping since they started dating. During my stay, I witnessed their turning in one huge motor home for an even larger Fifth Wheel.

And poof, before we knew it, it was time to pack it all up and go home. Rainy weather predicted for my departure prompted me to pack all outdoor gear the night before. Awning in, table, tent, grill, table covers were all stowed away nice and dry.....something as simple as that was a source of great joy to me. As for Winnie? August 26st will have Winnie traveling up to Kingston for some "adjustments." Some items on my list for Camping World include:
- The toggle switch for filling the clean water tank doesn't budge preventing the filling;
- Most storage compartment doors need adjustment; there should be no need to slam more than once for proper closure. Only one compartment door works as I think it should.
- One of the vents directly under the roof mounted AC does not blow as strongly as the one near it on the same line.
- Braking with the Mercedes seems spongy with a lot of pressure needed for not-so-sudden stops.
- Perform whichever procedures are required for a not-so-long time in operation. A manual for that, I'm sure, exists in my pile of books.
My next adventure will be Friday, August 1st until Monday August 4th; more time to make sure everything is in working order. Hello Sara and Rhode Island. Wawaloma Campground https://wawaloam.com/index.html
