Croton 9/23/14 - Morning Update

Once again, with annoyance, I see that unless readers click on the main title (a link) of the post, they do not get all the photos or videos posted.  What readers receive is an email that doesn't show the actual blog page which I think is nice. A very annoying site in that regard.  I am one of those who receives my own blog posts and am sorry others are missing out on viewing the actual blog page. There is a nice night time video of that mobile I spoke of morphing through delightful colors as it moved in the nighttime breeze  Well, so be it.

I should add that my posts are a compilation of my activities during the day.  Today, (7:30 am) I'm sitting outside at my picnic table taking care of emails before jumping into a number of books and manuals.  The sun has risen above the tree line and is hitting me straight on in the face.  I'll estimate in another 35-40 minutes, it will rise high enough to be blocked by my awning.  This is much further in a southerly direction than when I enjoyed sunrises back in July.  Then, as expected, the sun rose almost due east.  Hard to believe Mother earth is moving closer to the sun but because of its tilt, we'll be tilted away thus bringing us into the winter months.  (Oops, science teacher exposed) Where will I be? And for how long? I would like to avoid the inconvenience of winterizing Winnie but don't think I can avoid it.  Fortunately, my water lines are all within the coach; only the gray and black water tanks are outside, so that lessens the anxiety (whatever that is).

Speaking of water lines, my tinkering yesterday with the fresh water valve did not produce the desired results.  I can twist the knob in the indicated position for filling the fresh water tank but water doesn't flow at all. Thankfully, at any campsite I plan to visit, there is always city water available to tap into and I don't have to rely on a tank and the weight that goes with it while traveling. At 8.5 lbs/gallon, my 31 gallon tank...empty...makes me 238 lbs lighter.  Think of the extra gas mileage I'll get when I lose the extra weight I'm carrying.  So that's a visit, no doubt, up to the dealership, which will be a pain.  However, the other annoying adjustment, that of having to slam one the storage compartments and then kneeing it to catch the latch has been taken care of.
For me, that a biggie. As my daughter would say, "Yeah me."  A shot of WD-40 on the others has taken care of that.  One for two ain't bad.

The sun is very warm; I'm removing the cozy outer shirt/jacket and will end my thoughts for now.  It's 55 degrees up from the low of 45 last night.  No problems sleeping.

  1. So glad you were able to solve those little pesky problems. There will always be another glitch in some other thing-a-ma-bob on any given day of the year. Keep your View Manual handy.
