John & Barbara's Visit for Dinner - Searsport Oceanfront Camping - September 4, 2014

At 6:02 am. it was rise and shine at sunrise, here in Maine.   Directly out my rear sleeping area window, it was another beautiful sight.  The only thing better than a sunrise is a sunset.  Interestingly, no alarm was needed to greet the event.  I must have a solar clock setting embedded in my biological clock.  The temp, at 55 degrees was a tad nippy, but the coach was kept cozy with the occasional blowing of heat.  Waffles for breakfast before J&B come by about 10 am.  Today, it will be a 50 minute trip to Acadia National Park.  I look forward to the scenery that awaits me.

I'm looking forward to the one hour+, 48 mile trip on this beautiful day.  I'm already thinking that I will need to add a link to a Picasa Web Album to allow readers to view photos that way rather than adding to the log.  We shall see.

Well, it's the end of a very long and wonderful day....but aren't they all.  Cousin John & wife, Barbara have been going all out to provide me with what's the best about Maine, especially in this area that they are so familiar with.  We walked two areas of Acadia National Park and I was correct above in thinking that I'd have to add a link to my Picasa Web Page that will contain all the photos I took today.  What magnificent views...on a perfect day: no humidity, temps in the high 70's, low 80's and a cooling breeze that made the near 4 mile walk a delightful activity; one I'm glad to have participated in.  Right, Barb?  Hiking in this area is favorite of both John & Barbara who are very fortunate to have a place to go to when they can.  Another hour and a half and the beauty is all theirs.

Now for the food, which as everyone know is one of my favorite pastimes.  We stopped at The Docksider Restaurant in Northeast Harbor, Maine.  Although they had a varied menu, I decided that I must have my first "lobster roll".  Cannot be in Maine and not have lobster, correct?  At $19.99, I began to ask myself whether or not it would it be worth it?

It was.  Huge chunks of lobster resting on a nest of shredded lettuce and with just a touch of mayo, it made for a most satisfying and first-time experience.  I always say, "don't say you don't like it, unless you've tried it."

After my "forced march" at the hands the taskmaster, John, we stopped at Tozier's Family Market to pick up a few items for our upcoming dinner that I would prepare at the campsite.
Toziers Family Market.  So, after a most fascinating and memorable walk, it was dinner at site #10. Friends, Diane & Ed, also enjoyed my favorite meal that I love to prepare and present:
BBQ London Broil marinated in a sesame ginger sauce, baked potato, and fresh corn on the cob.  Tonight's presentation was made even more special because of my newly acquired "left-handed" knife.  What a difference when I was able slice the London broil super thin.  The grilling done to perfection.
