Saturday entry:
Today I had the pleasure of meeting a Peekskill High School classmate for lunch across the street at Finnegan's Irish Pub; Corned beef on rye with plenty of mustard for her accompanied by a glass of Harp and Fish & Chips for me with a tall Guinness. It hit the spot. Loretta, another classmate, who lives across the street from Pat, was ill and unable to join us. I've borrowed this photo from her FB page; she's been added to "Winnie's Visitors."
Tonight, cousin Norma is making the trek north and east to pick me up for dinner at one of her favorite Italian restaurants in Boca (Sorry, it has no website for me to share with you). While I'm at it, forget about reviews. Lesson learned: Never, n-e-v-e-r, read or trust patron reviews for either RV campgrounds/parks/resorts or restaurants. I truly believe that a) negative people get their jollies at the opportunity to "vent" their venom with these "reviews" and b) I am sure owners pay to have negative reviews written and submitted about competitors and favorable reviews written for their own. No question about it. I don't have the time or the will to give examples of what I've come across in my past. And, I can't tell you how many times I've read negative reviews, then visited the very same restaurant/campground and wondered where the hell these people went to come to these conclusions.......but don't get me going. All they do for me is to raise my ire at the stupidity of what people find good and bad with anything. Anyway, I danced the night away and enjoyed a perfectly made pizza and a great bottle of Cabernet Saugvignon. There's nothing like a well-done crust on a pizza and that's what we had. We arrived at 8:30 pm, ate, dined, danced, and I was dropped off back home (Del Ray RV) at 12:30 a.m. A good time for sure.
After lunch, I spent the afternoon laying out side and continuing my reading as I enjoyed the sunset. I'm in a bad location to catch its entirety but I do notice the colors appear and disappear to gray rather quickly her in the Sunshine State. As you know, it's no matter because I enjoy and savor each and every one of them. Meanwhile, up north, they have this in store for the next couple of days:
- TonightCloudy. A slight chance of snow this evening...then a slight chance of freezing rain and snow after midnight. Not as cool with lows in the upper 20s. South winds around 5 mph...becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
- SundayCloudy with a chance of freezing rain and snow. Highs around 30. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
- Sunday NightSnow with freezing rain likely with sleet. Snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Ice accumulation around a trace. Lows in the mid 20s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
- MondaySnow...freezing rain and sleet. Additional moderate snow accumulation. Highs in the upper 20s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
- Monday NightMostly cloudy. Freezing rain...snow and sleet likely in the evening...then a chance of snow...freezing rain and sleet after midnight. Additional light snow accumulation possible. Lows in the lower 20s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
But it's not the 9-18" of snow expected further north. Be careful and stay safe. Stay tuned for my revised itinerary because of the cycle of storms I read about.
I spent. A day on jekyll island exploring. Stayed in a place right on the water(on jekyll island) incredibly
ReplyDeletelow rates as it was off season. Took the advice of a local and ate at a local place. Great food. Enjoy, say Hi to Wemdy and Roger.
Snowing up a storm. All schools closed again. Even my periodontis cancelled. YEAH! M.
