Days 16 - 21 Del Ray Beach, FL-Wednesday

Del-Raton RV Park 2/3/2015 - 2/92015
2998 S. Federal Hwy
Del Ray Beach, FL 33483

Wednesday's entry:

It was near noon when, with vents and door open, I realized that it was approaching 75° outside and 85° inside (Sorry, New York).  Yikes, last night was the first I didn't need heat and today is the first day I needed the AC.   Gee, must be because I'm in Florida.  Duh.
Tonight, friends, Jim & Missie picked me up around 7:00 and spent time visiting Winnie for the first time.  The maid had been by and everything was clean and shipshape for their inspection.  They live in Boynton Beach, north of where I am situated.  We walked across Federal Highway (Rte 1) and arrived in no time at Tim Finnegan's Irish Pub.   I love that it's "All Irish All the Time" and my favorite Irishman got a taste of it for his future.  Click on the link above and see that Kathy Kelly was featured for "Irish Set Dancing" at 6:00 pm.  They were well into it when we arrived and Ms. Kathy, a young Irish lass in her late 70's, had a good number of folks up on the special floor for what was Irish square dancing.  The Pub crowd was serious about their dancing as they wore their own special shoes with taps.  The taps and the floor made their dancing characteristic of Irish step dancers that I so enjoy watching.  These old timers, however, weren't there yet.  At 8:00, there was a session of Pub Trivia, which was also taken serious by what seemed to be regulars.  $25 gift certificates and free drinks were the prizes.

The Pub by day.....
...and by night

Long time, good friends, Missie & Jim

Two retired teachers enjoying life...and retirement

A well stocked bar.  We enjoyed a 20 ounce glass
of Guinness while waiting for a table.

Homemade Potato Soup - Topped with
 bacon, cheddar cheese and scallions

Shepherds Pie - Slow simmered ground beef with onions,
peas & carrots and topped with savory mash then
baked golden brown -Our Mother's recipe.
The line drawn indicates how much I was able to eat
(the left portion, wise ass), the rest will be a couple of lunches.

P.S. Using flash in darkened restaurants takes away from true color of the foods I enjoy, especially sushi. I guess you don't have too much color with mashed potatoes though.

Thus ended a delightful get together with old friends, one of the joys of RVing.   Tomorrow night, the dining adventure will be with my Florida relatives.  Check in tomorrow for my Italian side.  Good night.
